BROADCAST ACADEMY ANNOUNCES STATE-OF-THE-ART PRODUCTION TRAININGS WITH NEW LIVE TV SIMULATOR

HBS, one of the world’s premier host broadcasters for multi-sport international events, has introduced a brand new Live TV Simulator for use in training courses within its revolutionary Broadcast Academy.

The Academy provides comprehensive training for production personnel, offering trainees a state-of-the-art environment that illustrates the latest innovations and efficiencies to match the high standards of international sport broadcast.

The Live TV Simulator is developed in conjunction with exclusive partner EVS, the inventors of the world’s first slow motion replay system and the leader in live video systems for broadcast and new media productions. The 2 XT3 and IP Director based system provides broadcast professionals a simulated live sporting or multi-camera studio event, combining the latest innovative production techniques and best industry practices with a knowledge of international broadcast standards.

Courses are delivered at the Paris training centre or at a location chosen by a client, the Live TV Simulator includes EVS live media servers – enabling up to 16 ISO camera feeds for ingest/playout, instant replay and slow motion tools – and a video switcher that can be used simultaneously by directors, producers and replay operators for collaborative workflows.

The Live TV Simulator is currently being used to provide real-world training environments for two Broadcast Academy programmes:

  1. The “Live Directing” module for live sports productions
  2. The “Studio Directors” module for studio based, multi-camera productions

The first two training modules are scheduled in September 2016, with more to follow in November and December, and in 2017.
